As of January 2008, Michigan Congressional District 9 was home to 2,316 arts-related businesses that employed 10,563 people. These arts-centric businesses play an important role in building and sustaining economic vibrancy in the county. They employ people, spend money locally, generate government revenue, and are a cornerstone of tourism and economic development. What happened with them?
